~ It’s an addition to the momentum, so it’s unfinished forever ~
primary school
In elementary school, if you say only in school, the grades in the upper middle.
Speaking of memories, when I was in the 4th grade, I was the protagonist of the arts and sciences.
“One candle” Shoya-san, who knew that when a candle first came to Japan, it was a deep-sea fish.
At that time, I was selected because I had a hobby of secretizing Japanese language textbooks and could remember long lines.
I think TV came to my house around the 4th grade of elementary school (around 1982).
Until then, I remember the old tales of radio and records playing in my house.
Around this time, it may have become a habit to expand the image.
No particular study other than homework. But I read the book a lot.
There are two main books, Gakken Science and Gakken Learning.
I’m looking forward to this every month, and my aunt will deliver it, but I remember going to the aunt’s house in charge of distribution when the release date came because I wanted to read it as soon as possible. Certainly, one book is 350 yen until about 4 years. The price increased by 50 yen, and it was 500 yen per book in 6 years.
The library was supposed to ride a bicycle to the library every Saturday for 20-30 minutes after calligraphy. I liked to read Seton Dobutsuki and Sherlock Holmes complete works.
The books I bought at home were Hatoju Muku’s complete works, 26 volumes, and manga Japanese history, 15 volumes. My education expenses in elementary school are about these magazines and books. It is unlikely that the total amount will exceed 100,000 yen.
The only lesson is calligraphy. I feel like I went up to the 5th dan in 6th grade.
I did some distance learning, but I didn’t go to elementary, junior high and high schools and cram schools (there is no tutor).
To be precise, when I was in middle 2, I went to Kumon for about a month, but I couldn’t get used to the style of doing a lot of messy simple problems like 1 + 4 =, so I immediately withdrew.
Family computers appeared when I was in the sixth grade of elementary school. The arrival of a full-fledged game bokeh era.
Middle school students
In junior high school, I joined the track and field club following my childhood friend who was one grade older in the neighborhood, but I was slow.
When I fell off the horizontal bar in the fall and broke my arm, I spent all my time playing games at home.
I often went to an arcade on my way home from school.
I was good at the game of jumping humans and breaking balloons with a seesaw called a circus. It was the best cospa game that you can play for 10 yen.
I used to play Dragon Quest, Road Runner, Super Mario, etc. at NES.
The championship road runner, a hole-drilling action puzzle, received the 18th certificate that was completely cleared in Japan.
I didn’t understand English at all, and it was winter in the middle 3 that I understood how to use Do and Does properly. Normally, it’s the content of the first semester of the middle one.
It was a public high school application closest to my house. Yamaguchi Prefectural Toyora High School is a relatively good person in the local area.
The father decided that it was a public school that could be reached by bicycle from home.
However, the junior high school teacher was pushing the drumstick that failed.
It’s hard to imagine that if he had fallen, he would probably have been engaged in civil engineering work at his father’s construction site.
High School days
In the winter of the third year of junior high school, I learned backflip by myself 100%, so I joined the gymnastics club in high school. It used to be a club that was said to be a strong player who also won the national championship.
On the way home, I browsed the experience of passing the University of Tokyo at a bookstore, and the story begins when I was shocked and bought it.
I decided to go to the University of Tokyo without permission. Of course, no one around me went to the University of Tokyo.
Rather, there are no people around me who went to college in the first place.
I have six siblings, including myself, but I was the only one who went to a school named University.
None of my relatives or acquaintances went to a university (not the University of Tokyo, but a school that is roughly called a “university” including Unko University).
Furthermore, it is not a brother, but a blood relative, and there are no college students in the range of relatives and 4th degree (up to cousin). There is finally one college student in my sister’s daughter (fifth degree).
My father grew up in the mountains of Hokkaido and didn’t go to elementary school properly, so he wrote, “Today I’m going to the park.”
Except for the teachers, the people I met by the time I graduated from high school, university students and university graduates (again, it’s not the University of Tokyo, just in case) were the local female college students Rika who was with me at the hotel restaurant where I secretly worked at high school. First name only.
A high school where one person received the University of Tokyo five years ago.
At that high school, the mock exam for the first grader in June was number 323 out of 360.
This is the starting point for my University of Tokyo exam.
From there, I ran up to the University of Tokyo examination line by self-education without a cram school or tutor.
Yale Publishing’s “My University of Tokyo Passing Strategy” was the trigger for taking the University of Tokyo exam. Maybe it’s still a book that comes out every year. On the way back from club activities, I somehow browsed at a bookstore. I don’t know why I bought it because I had no connection to the exam, but it seems that it would be easier than going to the Olympics with the legendary hero, gymnastics, but this triggered the possession of the god of learning.
The grade, which was 323rd out of 360 students in June of high school 1, rose to 3rd place in September, and became 1st place in the mock exam in December. It is ready to run alone while spreading. I remember that the school deviation value was 108, but I wonder if it would be the first place if there were 500 million standard students at the same high school.
The most basic is lack only was because a high 2 of the language novels of June Obunsha mock problem self-flattery, applesauce, “miso made at home” Age is an issue to answer the meaning slightly different from
“very large wrapping cloth,” “10 I remember answering wrongly like a model, “I’m old.”
If you are serious about the contents of the third year of junior high school, you can master it in three months. There is no reason to spend three years doing that, and I think Japanese school education is really inefficient.
However, because I was completely self-taught, I made a detour. The result would have changed if someone could teach me the basics.
All the classes at the school are internal jobs, so the teachers are disliked and isolated and unsupported. To put it bluntly, it was liked by PE teachers (I made it a little gymnastics club).
At that time, my slogan was “Aim from below the surface of the University of Tokyo.” Just like running up from the Mariana Trench to the summit of Mt. Fuji without assistance. The more height the difference, the more interesting the story.
I’m good at math. If I get tired of English, I’ll do math.
I think math was a break and it was like a game.
At that time, I was thinking, “Let’s aim for the best study time,” so there were days when I was studying for 20 hours a day. A bar graph is pasted at the entrance of the room to record study time every day, and the goal at that time was 100 hours a week (divided by 7 days, it is about 14 hours a day, which is not a very high hurdle).
As a result, I was a ronin for two years, but I have only received it at the University of Tokyo, and I have never thought of receiving it.
Everything is common in that it is not No. 1 except the University of Tokyo, so there is no big difference between No. 3, No. 5, and No. 10, so once you lower it, your goal will go down forever.
If I lowered my goals, I would have achieved enough results to satisfy the school, my family, and everyone around me. Well, it’s hard to imagine that Kyushu University was able to break through the most difficult obstacles and satisfied all the schools, relatives, and locals other than me. Everyone except me would have been very happy, even if it wasn’t the University of Tokyo.
That is why I cut off all other options myself.
Enrolled in Yoyogi Seminar Kokura School.
It was inspiring to see students from famous high schools like LaSalle and Nada for the first time.
I did some distance learning, but I didn’t go to elementary, junior high and high schools and cram schools (there is no tutor). To be precise, when I was in middle 2, I went to Kumon for about a month, but I didn’t get used to the style of doing a lot of messy simple problems like 1 + 4 = and immediately withdrew. At that time, if the grades were reasonable, the prep school fee was zero, so I hardly paid the tuition fee.
That’s why my lifelong education costs before entering the University of Tokyo are less than 500,000 yen. As mentioned above, in addition to Gakken’s science and learning, there are a few reference books and correspondence corrections, a mock exam fee, and transportation expenses to the prep school. The tuition fee for high school was 10,000 yen a month, but it was a scholarship. Therefore, I am confident that I will pass the University of Tokyo at the lowest cost ever. Moreover, the overwhelming lowest price. It is said that the average cram school fee to enter a private junior high school, which is famous for TV wide shows, is 2.5 million yen. It’s less than 10/1 on average because it can’t fit in at all.
At the timing when the Ronin was confirmed, he entered the traditional karate Shito-ryu in the neighborhood. Practicing twice a week was almost the only exercise, but getting a black belt in 1 year and 9 months was the shortest record at that time. Perhaps this record hasn’t been broken because the shortest record so far was two and a half years for the coaching teacher.
← By the way, my experience of passing the University of Tokyo (Yale Publishing, please contact me if you have any problems)
Incidentally, regarding the common theory of the University of Tokyo
① The parents of the University of Tokyo students are rich (The University of Tokyo cannot bear the cost of education)
(2) The parents of the University of Tokyo students are the University of Tokyo students (in short, “scholastic ability is inherited”)
Personal opinion
First of all, in my case, they are all in opposite positions. There were similar people in the dormitory of the University of Tokyo.
However, this is a micro story just because there are exceptions. I would also like to disagree with the macro story that there is the above tendency.
(1) First of all, as you can see from politicians and celebrities, there are many rich stupid sons.
The more money you spend, the higher the passing rate of the University of Tokyo is. That’s not the case.
In other words, there are overwhelmingly more people who spend money but have no connection with the University of Tokyo than those who spend money and pass the University of Tokyo.
From experience, the rate of “parents of the University of Tokyo are rich” is 80% at most, but “parents of stupid medical college are rich” is 99%, which should be overwhelmingly high.
Generally, those who pass the University of Tokyo know that it is most efficient to study by themselves. At a cram school, you will be asked what you know, so it will be a waste of time, but since you can pinpoint your weak points, you can just look at the reference book yourself. You don’t have to be a duck in the first place.
(2) Certainly, as far as my classmates are concerned, there are many parents and relatives who have graduated from Tokyo University.
However, the common understanding of those who passed the University of Tokyo is, “If you understand 100% of the high school textbooks, you will pass.”
Assuming that one step is taken and the academic ability is inherited, the influence of heredity is considered to be minor if the academic ability is sufficient to pass the University of Tokyo.
College days
Until I came to Tokyo, I thought that the University of Tokyo was a very special place, so I was given great preferential treatment by society.
I was disappointed because the train fare was treated as normal, probably because I was seriously thinking that it was free.
I earned all my tuition and living expenses from my part-time job. The Komaba dormitory is located on the premises of the University of Tokyo, and lives in a 24-mat room for three people.
After moving to Hongo, the University of Tokyo Toshima Dormitory is located between Sugamo and Otsuka. 6500 yen per month. This was another part-time job
In addition to the standard tutors and cram schools of the University of Tokyo, he has also worked at suspicious stores in Shinjuku, in addition to common part-time jobs such as moving, karaoke stores, restaurants, and rental videos.
When I went to the host club in Kabukicho for an interview, the store manager said, “You don’t think it’s suitable for you,” and responded, “I think so too.” There was something.
When it’s long, from 12:30 to 6:30 noon, I have an early part-time job at Big Echo on the 8th floor of the Shibuya station square building. When it was over, I honed my singing voice with karaoke alone for 2 hours (although there was no word for Hitokara), then moved from there and sorted Yu-Pack luggage at the Shinkiba post office from 9 pm to 6 am. There was a day when I came home at about 7:30 in the morning, slept for a moment, and started class at 9 o’clock (I fell asleep during class).
The club activities were one of the few clubs in the University of Tokyo’s athletic club that joined the Shorinji Kempo club, and won the national championship. Well, if the competition population is small or there are many people starting from university and the starting line is the same, it will be a match at the University of Tokyo, so the boat club, American football, and bodybuilding are strong at the University of Tokyo.
Yukio Mishima once said that the merit of entering the University of Tokyo is that he can say bad things about the University of Tokyo. In fact, it’s a story, but that’s it. How much did you study every day? I remember answering the standard question many times, but I realize that basically, “graduates of the University of Tokyo” are rarely useful except for joint parties.
Although he has repeated a year, he passed the second examination for certified accountant while he was still in school. To be honest, the exam is too easy for the University of Tokyo students to take seriously from the level of the examinees. Even around me, there were many University of Tokyo students who quit on the way because it was easy and easy to go to a vocational school.
society
Somehow I didn’t like ordinary office workers, so I took the exam, but what I actually do is check the accounting books. It is not an intellectual task because there are no more difficult problems than the four arithmetic operations. Moreover, the treatment is a complete office worker. I learned Excel VBA because I had to repeat simple tasks a lot and I couldn’t do anything about it. Well, this is also self-taught, but at that time the Internet was quite widespread and there was a bulletin board that answered questions, which was a great help.
It was the M & A advisory department of Mitsubishi Securities that changed jobs in search of a more glamorous world. Nowadays, there are many job change groups from different industries, but when I changed jobs in 2004, out of 60 people in the department, there were no people other than me from banks and securities companies.
There is a way to listen to the needs of customers and make proposals regarding mergers and acquisitions of companies, but what I liked was the style of bringing proposals to both companies from scratch with my own ideas.
In particular, I am very familiar with the housing equipment industry, and even the managing director of the manufacturer said, “You are more familiar with our products than I am.” At that time, I often went to Matsushita Electric Works and was told that “M & A in the housing equipment industry is a waste of time to talk about other than Hayada.” By the way, Curves for women’s fitness, I believe that this company is due to me, but what do you think of the person in question?
However, Mitsubishi often felt that the bank color was too strong and stuffy, so he transferred to Nikko Securities in search of more freedom. It is now under the umbrella of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, but at that time it was an independent securities company.
I had been doing M & A for about 3 years, but at that time the industry environment was bad and the economy was bad, so the bonus was not as good as I expected. There is no overtime pay and bonuses are much less than planned.
Nikko Securities was acquired by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. Bankers rushed to the M & A department. Well, anyway, the bank clerk is not a customer but a race that only looks at the face of the boss, so I do not accept it physiologically. Therefore, I was transferred to a business succession department where I could utilize my knowledge without a bank clerk.
This was a department that considered inheritance measures for the chairman and president of a listed company. I was thinking about creating an asset management company, creating a foundation, creating a company overseas, and how to reduce taxes from there. This would be a business that is specialized only for large companies or some wealthy people, but it is not so, and I think it was the beginning of independence that I wanted to do a job that would please more people.
If a mobile game company wants to expand into the world, or if you think that helping them will only increase the number of idiots around the world, what is the job I’m doing? ?? I gradually began to feel doubts.
Around this time, I started thinking about how to live and realized that I had decided my course from the perspective of which path would be evaluated by others.
I thought I had chosen my own course, but when I asked about the complexion of the people around me, I realized that I had decided my course based on the evaluation criteria of others. Not a few people do not notice until the end, so it is delightful to notice.
It was July 2014 that I quit SMBC Nikko Securities.
The Capital Affairs Department, which I was enrolled at that time, was a barren department that made thick documents that no one could read due to the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, and it was a department that usually returned from the last train every day.
When my wife was hospitalized for the second childbirth, there was a time when I was forced to return at 5 o’clock because of the pick-up of my eldest daughter and housework. At that time, the thread broke with a single word from the female director.
“When will you be able to work until midnight?”
When stretched, the legs open 180 degrees
I decided not to leave the scenario of my life to others, so I decided to choose my own path.
I won’t be fooled even if I’m fooled
